This is my FAVE pizza dough out there. I searched long and hard to find this, and now that I’ve found it, I will share it with you! It is a chewy, crunchy, delicious tasting crust. I’ve made pizzas, calzones, and stromboli with it and it’s not failed me yet!

A rainy Friday here. I actually prefer making pancakes on Fridays but biscuits smell almost as good and you can fill them with lots of good things
I found one leftover biscuit that a kid hadn’t snatched up and I sneakily filled it with NUTELLA. It made my rainy Friday absolutely delightful. My heart actually raced when I bit into it, not gonna lie.

It DOES seem like we’ve been doing a lot of breakfast. As I’ve said, we are in a “kitchen utensils and appliances” unit: an intro of sorts.
Pancakes seem like something mindless and easy, but there are actually several techniques that ensure GORgeous delicious pancakes. For example, have you ever had pancakes that are too dark on the outside and gooey on the inside? Your griddle is too hot! Or when they are pale and thin? Griddle too cool. Also, if I see one more student press down that blessed pancake with the back of their blessed spatula, I will flip my lid.
Technically we are in the “kitchen equipment and appliances” unit. Today we are using our electric crepe makers. I can’t say crepe with the appropriate throaty french accent so I call them “crapes”, just an FYI
We made this yesterday as the Valentine’s Day treat. I LOVE these and they are super easy but a warning… they are indeed bittersweet. I prefer dark chocolate.. the darker the better. APPARENTLY, high school students prefer the sweet stuff. If you identify more with the teenagers, there is an easy swap. Use 6 oz. of the chocolate YOU like. You could do all milk, semi-sweet and milk, what have you.
Also, the unsweetened chocolate comes wrapped in individual one oz. squares, so just count out three. The 3 oz. of semi-sweet would have to be weighed. If you don’t have a kitchen scale, then it is about 1/3 c. plus 2 tbsp. worth of regular size chocolate chips. Enjoy! These were made on a single day (40 minute class). They were explained, prepped, made, eaten and cleaned up by 20 inexperienced 16 year old kids. ANYONE can do this! Makes six individual cakes.
Snickerdoodles are basically a sugar cookie, but with the addition of cinnamon and traditionally, cream of tartar (to activate the baking soda). It has a crackly surface and can be crunchy or slightly chewy. These cookies are slightly chewy, which I think is better
First block day, which means that this recipe was prepped, created, eaten and cleaned up in an 80 minute time period (instead of the usual 40).
We had a recipe for blueberry muffins that left me wanting more. I decided to go a’searching. First spot I check is ALWAYS America’s Test Kitchen… I usually search no further, as I find just what I was looking for!
