I probably don’t drink enough water. I don’t carry one of those unbreakable bottles everywhere I go and hot water with lemon to start my day sounds depressing – coffee coffee coffee (there’s a dance that goes with that chant).
Moderate alcohol intake can absolutely be a part of healthy lifestyle – and thank goodness for that because summer barbeques wouldn’t be the same without a cold drink in hand. A light beer or a glass of wine is generally your best bet, whereas blended fruit cocktails can be loaded with sugar, clocking in upwards of 400 calories.
I’m perfectly happy with beer and wine. I like the taste of both, and if I’m going to use up over 300 calories on something I’d like it be ice cream or chocolate cake. Or pizza. The one drink that does actually get me going is a margarita. It’s the drink in my “last meal”. I like it with salt, on the rocks, and not too sweet. Let’s be real though I’ll take it any which way.
